The 1911 census does not list William as living with the family at house 21 in Dungannon Street, Moy, County Tyrone. His mother was still had a boarding house. There is no record of William on the 1911 census, so it may be assumed that he had emigrated by that time. |

He had formerly been engaged in the boot departments of the Bank Buildings, Belfast and of Mr Andrew Johnston, Banbridge, and, emigrating to South Africa, was in charge of the boot establishment of W M Cuthbert in Vereeniging for several years. |
