Lance Corporal Thomas Samuel Chambers was killed in action at Cassino, in Italy on 23rd May 1944. Thomas ‘Tommie’ Chambers is commemorated on the family headstone in the Brackaville Church of Ireland Cemetery.

CHAMBERS - Lance Corporal Thomas S Chambers, killed in action on active service in Italy, May 1944, eldest son of Sarah and the late William J chambers, Coalisland, County Tyrone. ‘Until the day break and the shadows flee away.’ Deeply regretted by his sorrowing Grannie and Aunt Minnie, Aughrimderg, Stewartstown; also Aunt Nellie and Uncle Bob, Finnebrogue, Downpatrick.

CHAMBERS – May 1944, while on active service in Italy, Tommie, beloved brother of May and Alfred. ‘Silent thoughts, tears unseen.’

CHAMBERS - Lance Corporal Thomas J Chambers, killed while on active service in Italy, May 1944. ‘Worthy of everlasting remembrance.’ Deeply regretted by his Uncle Bob and Aunt Laura, 19 Sandhurst, Cookstown; also cousins Laura and Harry, Oldtown Hill, Cookstown.

CHAMBERS – In loving memory of my dear brother, Tommie, killed in action on 23rd May 1944.
Years will not weary, nor shadows dim,
Those beautiful memories we keep of him.

Lance Corporal Chambers is buried in Cassino War Cemetery in Italy.
Lance Corporal Chambers is commemorated locally on Dungannon War Memorial.
Thomas ‘Tommie’ Chambers is also commemorated on the family headstone in the Brackaville Church of Ireland Cemetery.
CHAMBERS – In loving memory of Margaret (Crimmie) died 9th May 1961. Also Lance Corporal T S Chambers (Tommie), North Irish Horse, killed in action 23rd May 1944, interred Cassino, Italy. Also their sister-in-law Margaret Chambers, beloved wife of Andrew, died 4th April 1998 and her loving husband Andrew, died 27th August 2005.
