From the Belfast Newsletter dated 16th June 1916:
Mr John Weir, Mullyrodden, Carland, Dungannon, has been officially informed that his son, Private John Weir, Inniskilling Fusiliers, was killed in action on 29th April.
From the Tyrone Courier dated 22 June 1916:
Mr John Weir, Mullyrodden, has been officially informed that his son, Private John Weir, Inniskilling fusiliers, was killed in action on 29th April 1916. The deceased volunteered on the 4th January 1915, being then 19 years of age.

In this will, he left all to his mother, who was living in Mullyrodden.
