John Weir was the son of John and Margaret Weir. John Weir was born on 17th March 1896 in Mullyrodden, County Tyrone. His father was a farm labourer. John Weir volunteered on the 4th January 1915. Private John Weir was serving with the 8th Battalion of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers when he was killed in action in France on 29th April 1916.
