Summary      
George Walker was the oldest son of Robert Walker and Lucinda Walker, He was born on 17th April 1895. He was the second of seven children, five surviving, all born in the Ballygawley area. His father was a farmer. The family lived in Lisnaweary, Favor Royal, County Tyrone. Private George Walker was serving with the 9th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action near Authuile in France on 8th May 1916. He was 21 years old.
