Summary      
William Patrick Glass was the son of Hugh and Elizabeth Glass, of Clogher, County Tyrone. He was born on 5th July 1885. William Glass emigrated to Canada where he worked as a salesman.. He enlisted on 23rd September 1914 at Valcartier, Quebec. He was 5' 5" tall and single. Private William Patrick Glass was serving with the 4th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry, the Central Ontario Regiment, when he was killed in action on 8th July 1916.

Summary      
Ypres (now Ieper) is a town in the Province of West Flanders. The Memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town on the road to Menin (Menen) and Courtrai (Kortrijk). Each night at 8 pm the traffic is stopped at the Menin Gate while members of the local Fire Brigade sound the Last Post in the roadway under the Memorial's arches.
