Summary
Rowland Grogan was born in Coalisland, County Tyrone about 1888. The 1911 census records an R Grogan living in Army Barracks in Dundalk, County Louth. He was 20 years old and hailed from County Tyrone. Roland Grogan was living in Belfast during the war. Sergeant Roland Grogan was serving with "D" Battery of the 83rd Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery when he was killed in action in France on the 17th October 1917. He was 29 years old. Sergeant Rowland Grogan was awarded the Military Medal (M.M)
The Cemetery is located on the Diksmuidseweg road (N369) in the direction of Boezinge. From Ieper station turn left into Fochlaan and go to the roundabout, turn right and go to the next roundabout. Here turn left and drive to the next roundabout, where you should turn right into Oude Veurnestraat. Take the second turning on the left, which is the Diksmuidseweg and carry on under the motorway bridge and the cemetery is another 300 metres on the left hand side of the road.
