20/05/2021 Gilbert Alexander Howard was the son of John and Mary Howard. John Howard and Mary Boyd were married on 23rd August 1888 in the district of Dungannon.
20/05/2021 Gilbert Alexander Howard was born on 28th April 1892 in Augher, Tyrone. He was the second of five children.

20/05/2021 Drummer Gilbert A Howard, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, whose parents reside at ???dale, Clydesdale Road, New Stevenston, is officially reported as having died from wounds. He was 25 years of age, and had been in the regular forces for a period of six years, during which he saw service in China and India. He took part in the landing operations at Gallipoli and sustained wounds to which he succumbed on 16th June.

20/05/2021 The 1901 census shows Gilbert as an 8 year old schoolboy. His mother was a widow. The family was living in Eskermore, Cecil, County Tyrone.

26/11/2016 From the Belfast Newsletter dated 15th February 1916:
26/11/2016 Drummer Gilbert Alexander Howard is buried in Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery in Greece.
26/11/2016 Drummer G A Howard, 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, who has been killed in action, was a son of the late Mr John Howard, Eskermore, Augher.
