09/02/2017 William James Watson was born on 8th June 1897 in Caledon, County Tyrone. He was one of five children, four surviving.
09/02/2017 By the time of the 1901 census, William James was age 3, living with the family at house 9 in Knocknagoney, Ballyhackamore, County Down. His father, James Watson, was an agricultural labourer.

09/02/2017 William James Watson was the eldest son of James and Sarah Ann Watson. James Watson married Sarah McLean on 9th April 1891 in the district of Dungannon.
09/02/2017 Private W J Watson is buried in Ribecourt British Cemetery. Ribecourt was taken on the 20th November 1917 by the 6th Division, but at the conclusion of the Battle of Cambrai it remained practically on the British front line; it was lost in March 1918 and recaptured by the 3rd and 42nd (East Lancashire) Divisions on the following 27th September.
