News was received in Clones yester morning of the death in action in France of Captain Fred J Duggan, Royal Field artillery, son of Mr Creighton Duggan, Clones. The sad message had been forwarded to the late Captain Duggan's widow, who resides in London, by his colonel, who in expressing deep regret at his death, said he was one of the very best, and loved by all the officers and men. Captain Duggan, who was in his 34th year, was educated at Dungannon Royal School and afterwards at Woolwich. He married, in 1905, Edith Emily, only daughter of the late Thomas Albert Bampfield Cogan, of Bristol, and leaves two sons. He had a younger brother in the Royal Engineers. |
