Frederick Miles Allison was born in Old Catton, Norfolk, England on 24th October 1884. After the death of his father the remainder of the family moved into Norwich, where, in 1901, Frederick, age 16, was a timber merchant's clerk. The 1911 census lists Frederick Miles Allison as 26 years old. He has been married for one year to Sophia Jane. He was employed as an agricultural labourer. They lived in Edencrannon, Castlecaulfield. Private Frederick Miles Allison was serving with the 3rd battalion of the Coldstream Guards when he was killed in action in France on 13th April 1918.

Frederick Miles Allison was born in Old Catton, Norfolk, England on 24th October 1884.
The 1891 English census records that the Allison family were resident in Church Street in 1891, where his father's profession was recorded as a butler (no doubt at Catton Hall).
After the death of his father the remainder of the family moved into Norwich, close to St Augustine's gates where, in 1901, Frederick junior, age 16, was a timber merchant's clerk.
The 1911 census lists Frederick Miles Allison as 26 years old. He has been married for one year to Sophia Jane. He was employed as an agricultural labourer. Sophia worked as a domestic servant. They lived in Edencrannon, Castlecaulfield, County Tyrone. The census confirms Frederick as being born in England.

Frederick is also commemorated on the family headstone in Catton Park, England – 'Also in memory of Frederick Miles the youngest son of the above who was killed in action in France April 1918'.
