Joseph Allen was the son of Thomas and Mary Allen. Joseph was born in Castlecaulfield on 7th June 1891. By 1911 Joseph was a linen weaver living in Lurgan. Joseph Allen enlisted in Lurgan, County Armagh. Rifleman Joseph Allen was serving with the 12th Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles when he was killed in action in France and Flanders on 13th April 1918.

Joseph Allen was the son of Thomas and Mary Allen. Thomas Allen and Mary Taggart were married on 27th May 1884 in the district of Dungannon.
Joseph Allen was born in Castlecaulfield, County Tyrone, on 7th June 1891. He was the fourth of five sons, all born in the Dungannon area.

Joseph Allen enlisted in Lurgan, County Armagh.

Rifleman Joseph Allen was serving with the 12th Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles when he was killed in action in France and Flanders on Saturday 13th April 1918. He was 26 years old.
Rifleman Joseph Allen has no known grave and is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium.
