Thomas Williamson was born in Canary, Co Armagh. Canary lies about one mile due east of the Square in Moy on the County Armagh side of the Blackwater River. Thomas Williamson enlisted in Belfast. Private Thomas Williamson was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling fusiliers when he was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme on 1st July 1916. Private Williamson has no known grave and is commemorated on Thiepval Memorial in France.
