Michael Moore was the youngest son of William James and Catherine Moore. He was born on 10th October 1886 near Newmills. The 1901 census records Michael Moore as 14 years old. He had left school and was working as a flax machiner. Michael lived with the family in Drumey, Newmills, Tyrone. The 1911 census shows Michael as 24 years old. Michael was now a farm labourer. Michael still lived with the family in Drumey. Mick Moore enlisted in Londonderry with the 8th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Private Mick Moore was killed in action near Albert in France on the 21st March 1918.

Michael Moore was the youngest son of William and Catherine Moore. William James Moore and Catherine Cush were married on 27th November 1873 in the district of Dungannon.
Michael Moore was born on 10th October 1886. He was one of at least nine children, seven surviving, all born in the Newmills area.

The 1901 census records Michael Moore as 14 years old. He had left school and was working as a flax machiner. Michael lived with the family in Drumey, Tullyniskane, Tyrone. His father was a farmer.
The 1911 census shows Michael as 24 years old. Michael was now an agricultural labourer. Michael still lived with the family in Drumey, Tullyniskane, Tyrone.
Mick Moore enlisted in Londonderry with the 8th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.

Private Mick Moore was killed in action near Albert in France on the 21st March 1918. He was killed on the first day of the German Spring Offensive.
Private Mick Moore has no known grave and is commemorated on panels 38-40 of the Pozieres Memorial in France.
Private Mick Moore is commemorated locally on Dungannon War Memorial.
