Walter Curry was born on 1st March 1893 in Aughnacloy. He was the son of George and Mary Jane Curry of Carricklongfield, Aughnacloy. George was a farmer. Walter emigrated to Toronto, Canada where he lived at 81 Shelbourne Street and worked as a truck driver He had already spent 2 years with the C.A.M.C. before he re-enlisted on 7th June 1917 at Toronto. 5' 9" tall. He was not married and listed his mother as his next of kin. Private Walter Curry was with the Canadian Infantry when he was killed in action on 10th November 1918.

Private Walter Curry was serving with the 19th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry when he was killed on 10th November 1918. About 11am, Private Curry went forward to bandage a wounded man and was killed by machine gun fire.
The Canadian Circumstances of Death Register records that Private Curry was killed in action on 10th November 1918. About 11am on 10th November 1918, Private Curry went forward to bandage a wounded man. He was later found by his company, lying dead with a machine gun bullet in his side.
Private Curry is buried in Frameries Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
