There is a Private T Johnston on Dungannon War Memorial, This is the best match. However, this was an Omagh man. Thomas John Johnston was the son of Fleming Wilson Johnston and Mary Johnston. Thomas was born in Omagh on 10th August 1891. Thomas emigrated to Canada where he worked as a farmer. He enlisted on 24th June 1915 at Cornwall, Ontario. Private Thomas John Johnston was serving with the 73rd Battalion of the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment) when he died of wounds and pneumonia at No.6 Casualty Clearing Station on 13th April 1917.
Further Information
There is a Private T Johnston on Dungannon War Memorial, who is listed as having been with the Canadians. This is the best match. However, this was an Omagh man, and absolutely no link has been found with Dungannon.
Thomas John Johnston was the son of Fleming Wilson Johnston and Mary Johnston
Thomas was born in Omagh, County Tyrone. Military records suggest he was born on 20th August 1892. GRONI records that he was born on 10th August 1891.
The 1911 census lists Thomas J as age 19, a farm labourer, living at house 47 in Donaghanie, Camowen, Tyrone. Presumably he was working for the Lyons family that he was living with.
Thomas emigrated to Canada where he worked as a farmer.

Thomas John Johnston enlisted on 24th June 1915 at Cornwall, Ontario. He names his next of kin as his mother Mary.
Private Thomas John Johnston was serving with the 73rd Battalion of the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment) when he died on 13th April 1917.
The Canadian Circumstances of Death Register records that Private Johnston died of wounds and pneumonia at No.6 Casualty Clearing Station on 13th April 1917.
In his will, he left all to his mother, Mrs M Johnston, Enney, Beragh, Co Tyrone, Ireland.
Last Will and Testament of Private T Johnston dated 2nd June 1916:
In the event of my death I give the whole of my property and effects to my mother, Mrs M Johnston, Enney, Beragh, Co Tyrone, Ireland.
Private Thomas Johnston is buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Barlin is a village about 11 kilometres south-west of Bethune.
