Samuel James Wright was the youngest son of Thomas and Mary Wright. He was born on 6th October 1889 in Aughnacloy. He was the youngest of at least nine children. The 1901 census has a possible listing of Samuel age 11, living with the family at house 112 in Moore Street, Aughnacloy. Samuel emigrated to the United States. He was living in Pennsylvania prior to enlisting. Sergeant Samuel J Wright was serving with 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division, of the United States Army when he was killed in action in France on 19th July 1918.

Samuel James Wright was the youngest son of Thomas and Mary Wright. Thomas Wright and and Mary Wiley were married on 5th June 1874 in the district of Dungannon.
Samuel Wright was born on 6th October 1889 in Aughnacloy. He was the youngest of at least nine children.

Sergeant Samuel J Wright, U.S.A. Infantry, whose death in action is officially announced, was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Wright, of Penn Line, Pennsylvania, formerly of Aughnacloy, County Tyrone.
Sergeant Samuel James Wright is buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery in Fere-en-Tardenois, France.
