George Hoye was born in Enniskillen about 1891. The 1911 census records an 18 year old George Hoy working as a farm servant for the Stewarts in Moysnaght, Clabby, County Fermanagh. George Hoye enlisted in Enniskillen and went to France on 5th October 1915. Private George Hoy was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme on 1st July 1916. He was 23 years old.

The 1911 census records an 18 year old George Hoy working as a farm servant for John and Dorcas Stewart in Moysnaght, Clabby, County Fermanagh.
George Hoye enlisted in Enniskillen.

Private Hoye went to France on 5th October 1915.
Private George Hoy was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme on 1st July 1916. He was 23 years old.
Private Hoye is buried in Connaught Cemetery near Thiepval.
Private Hoye is also commemorated on the memorial in Fivemiletown Methodist Church and the memorial in St Margaret's Parish Church, Clabby, near Fivemiletown. (as Private Hoy)
