Patrick McGeary was the son of Peter and Bridget McGeary. He was born on 7th March 1881 in the Coalisland area. Patrick McGeary married Phoebe Hall in Leith, Scotland in 1912. They had two children, a boy and a girl. Gunner Patrick McGeary was serving with ‘C’ Battery with the 34th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery when he was killed in action in France on 22nd April 1917.
Further Information
Patrick McGeary was the son of Peter and Bridget McGeary. This was taken from a now defunct Ancestry forum post. If true, Bridget’s maiden name was Kavanagh. No GRONI marriage record has been found, possibly because Bridget was from Waterford.
Patrick McGeary was born on 7th March 1881. He was one of at least eight children, all born in the Coalisland area.
Known family: Peter McGeary, Bridget McGeary, Catherine McGeary (born 12th July 1878), Patrick McGeary (born 7th March 1881), Bridget McGeary (born about 1883), Mary Anne McGeary (born about 1885), Ellen McGeary (born 25th July 1887), Teresa McGeary (born 5th June 1889),Francis McGeary (born 18th April 1891), Unnamed daughter (born 26th May 1893, died 26th May 1893).
The 1901 census does not list Patrick as living with the family at house 50 in Annagher, Meenagh, Coalisland. Patrick’s mother was a widow.
The 1911 census does not list Patrick as living with the family at house 97 in Coalisland Town, Tyrone.
Patrick McGeary married Phoebe Hall in Leith, Scotland in 1912. They had two children, a boy and a girl.

Gunner Patrick McGeary arrived in Egypt with the Royal Field Artillery on 19th July 1915.
Gunner Patrick McGeary was serving with 'C' Battery with the 34th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery when he was killed in action in France on 22nd April 1917.
From the Tyrone Courier dated 31 May 1917:
Private Patrick McGeary, Royal Field Artillery, belonged to Union Place, Dungannon, and had been called up with the Special Reserve on the outbreak of hostilities.
Gunner Patrick McGeary is buried in Albuera Cemetery, eight kilometres north east of Arras in France.
