Summary
Alfred Stanley Button was the son of Henry and M J Button. He was born about 1915 in Sussex. Prior to joining the Army at the beginning of the war, Alfred was a porter on the railways. Alfred Button served with the Royal Engineers in World War Two. Sapper Alfred Button was serving with the 9 Movement Control Group when he died on 3rd August 1942 in hospital in Belfast.
Lewes Cemetery, (sometimes called St. Michael's Cemetery), in Rotten Row, on the West side of the town, was made in 1854, and belongs to the Corporation.
