Summary
Patrick Hamill was the eldest son of George and Rose Hamill. He was the oldest of nine children. They lived in Roan, His father was a blacksmith. Patrick joined the RIC. He later enlisted in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Gunner Patrick Hamill was serving with the 2nd Battery, 13th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery when he was injured and died of wounds in a Liverpool hospital on 26th March 1915.
Liverpool (Kirkdale) Cemetery les north of Liverpool, England near Aintree racecourse. About half of the graves from WW1 are scattered throughout the cemetery and the rest are contained in two war graves plots, where the names of the dead are recorded on Screen Wall panels.
