Andrew Wigton was the son of Abraham and Ann Wigton. He was born on 28th May 1886 in Tamnamore, Dungannon, County Tyrone. There is no mention of any of the family in the 1901 census and it is suspected that the family had moved to Scotland by 1901. Lance Corporal Wigton was awarded the Military Medal. Sergeant Andrew Wigton was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Royal Scots when he was killed in action in France on Sunday 16 September 1917. Andrew Wigton lived at 36 Tollcross Road, Glasgow.
