Summary
William John Moan was a son of William and Catherine Moan. He was born on 16th February 1877 in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone. William emigrated to New Zealand. Prior to enlisting William worked as a gardener at the Ellerslie Convent. He enlisted in March 1917. Private William John Moan was serving with the 1st Battalion of the Auckland Infantry Regiment, New Zealand Expeditionary Force (N.Z.E.F.) when he was killed in action in France on 1st October 1918.
Anneux is a village in the Department of the Nord, a little to the south of the main road from Cambrai to Bapaume. The Cemetery is 200 metres from the junction of the N30 and D15.
