Summary      
Robert Conroy was believed to have been the second son of Robert and Martha Conroy. He was born in Dungannon on 8th January 1878. The family moved to Belfast around 1881. He may have been a brass finisher bfore moving to Holme, Westmoreland, England. He served initially with the Royal Irish Rifles. He later transferred to the Labour Corps. Private Robert Conroy died of bronchitis and cardiac failure on 10th June 1918 at the Camp Hospital at Newtownards Military Camp.
