Cecil Robert Montgomery was the son of John and Mary Eleanor Montgomery. He was born on 12th February 1914. He was the eldest of three known children who lived in the Tullykenneye area, near Brookeborough. Pilot Officer Cecil Robert Montgomery served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two. He was killed whilst piloting a Hurricane during the Battle of Britain.
Oye-Plage is a small town 14 kilometres east of Calais on the coast. When approaching Oye Plage on the D940 from Calais, turn right at the first set of traffic lights. The car park for the Communal Cemetery will be found some 75 metres from the lights on the right hand side, and the war graves will be found in the far left hand corner of the Communal Cemetery.
