30/12/2015 The CWGC records his family as living at Barrack Row, Coalisland.
30/12/2015 Unlike many who died at the Somme, Private Rafferty has a grave and is buried at Y Ravine Cemetery in Beaumont-Hamel.
30/12/2015 Private Peter Rafferty was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme on 1st July 1916. He was 22 years old.
30/12/2015 Peter Rafferty enlisted in Dungannon with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.

30/12/2015 Peter Rafferty was a son of Thomas and Ellen Rafferty (nee McCann). They were married about 1889. Peter was born about 1895 in Coalisland, County Tyrone.
