30/12/2015 Lance Corporal George Moffatt is buried in A.I.F. Burial Ground, two kilometers north of the village of Flers,
30/12/2015 Lance Corporal George Moffatt returned to the front and was killed in action shortly afterwards at the Somme on 1st July 1916.
30/12/2015 In May 1916, he was home on furlough with his family in Tempo for a short time.
30/12/2015 On his return to England, George joined the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and was sent to France.
30/12/2015 The battalion landed at Suvla Bay at Gallipoli on 7th August and took part in heavy fighting against the Turkish army, until the battalion's withdrawal at the end of August 1915.
30/12/2015 After training in Basingstoke, Hampshire, he sailed to the Balkans with the 6th Battalion on 7th June 1915.
