Summary      
Robert Hall was the second son of Samuel and Eliza Ann Hall. He was born on 8th June 1892 between Brookeborough and Fivemiletown. The family lived at Aughavoory, Corrylongford, Fermanagh. His father Samuel was a farmer. By 1911, Robert Hall was 19 years old. He was working as a grocer’s assistant. Private Robert Hall was serving with the 9th Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers when he was killed in action in France on 16th August 1917, age 25.

Robert Hall was the second son of Samuel and Eliza Ann Hall. Samuel Hall and Eliza Beatty were married on 3rd November 1886 in Fermanagh.
Robert Hall was born on 8th June 1892. He was the second of five children, all born in the Brookeborough area of Fermanagh.
The 1901 census lists Robert as 8 years old living with the family in Aughavoory, Corrylongford, County Fermanagh. His father Samuel was a farmer.
Family: Samuel Hall, Eliza Hall, James William Hall (born 3rd April 1890), Robert Hall (born 8th June 1892), Joseph Hall (born 8th January 1895), Margaret Hall (born 1st July 1900), Emily Hall (born 20th March 1906).
The 1911 census records Robert Hall as 19 years old. He was working as a grocer’s assistant. He was still living with the family in Aghavoory, Corrylongford.
Robert was a member of Cooneen L.O.L. No. 1010.
Robert Hall enlisted in Armagh.

Private Robert Hall was serving with the 9th Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers when he was killed in action in France on 16th August 1917, age 25.
There was some speculation that he was a prisoner of war, but a letter from the War Department dispelled this.

Private Robert Hall has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, near Ypres in Belgium.
Private Robert Hall is commemorated locally on Fivemiletown War Memorial.
