Summary      
William Henry Johnstone was the son of William and Susan Henry Johnstone. He was born on 5th January 1889 in Ballyvaddan, Fivemiletown. The family moved to Glasgow. His father was a joiner and latterly a labourer in the docks. William was the husband of Margaret Brown Campbell Johnstone. William enlisted early in 1915. Private William Johnstone was serving with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action on 27th January 1917.

William Henry Johnstone was the son of William and Susan Henry Johnstone. William Johnstone and Susan Hillock were married on 2nd November 1887 in the district of Dungannon.
William Henry Johnstone was born on 5th January 1889 in Ballyvaddan, Fivemiletown, County Tyrone. He was christened in St John’s Parish Church, Fivemiletown.
Known family: William Johnstone, Susan Henry Johnstone, Sarah Johnstone (born 16th January 1888), William Henry Johnstone (born 5th January 1889), Robert Johnstone (born 11th March 1890).
The family moved to Glasgow. His father was a joiner and latterly a labourer in the docks.
William was the husband of Margaret Brown Campbell Johnstone. They lived at 29 Grace Street, Anderston, Glasgow.
William Johnstone enlisted in Glasgow.

Private Johnstone arrived in the Balkans with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 25th May 1915.
Private William Johnstone was serving with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was killed in action on 27 January 1917. He was 27 years old.
Private William Henry Johnstone has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
Private William Henry Johnstone is commemorated locally on the Fivemiletown War Memorial.
